analogue sensor is idle.
The analogue sensor operation is shown in Figure 77.
Analogue Sensor Parameters
Analogue Sensor Units
An analogue sensor is used to measure 4-20mA sensors. Depending on the type of sensor, the
measured value may represent a flow rate, pressure, or some other variable. The Touch Controller
allows a text string to be entered to be used as the units for the sensor. This text can be useful when
examining logs by assigning a sensible valid unit to the measurement.
Analogue Sensor Calibration
Shows the calibration, or full scale measurement for the flow meter. This value is the reading that
will be displayed by the controller when the 4-20mA sensor is measuring 20mA current. The
calibration figure will be found in the specifications or user manual for the senor being measured.
Current Value
Each Analogue Sensor Expansion Module measures the current loop and calculates the value each
second. The value displayed on the Analogue Sensor displays is the latest value read from the
Expansion Unit. The update rate for the display is set in the Expansion Unit Configuration screen.
Analogue Sensor Trigger Level
Each analogue sensor can have a trigger value set. When the measured level exceeds this value,
the sensor is considered triggered, or alarmed. This condition can be used in the Rules subsystem to
activate a rule output, or it can be used as a control input to an irrigation program. An example could
be a flow meter sensor used to detect overflow conditions, and to skip or stop a currently irrigating
program.
