    HOW SUPPLIED The Gel Cap Insertion System is supplied in a dual 16 Fr./20 Fr. component kit for use with a 16 Fr. or 20 Fr. Blom-Singer Low Pressure voice prosthesis. Store in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight.
  • Page 6 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE The Blom-Singer Gel Cap Insertion System is designed for use only with Blom-Singer Low Pressure Voice Prostheses. Do not use this product with any other type devices.
  • Page 7 Blom-Singer® Gel Cap Insertion System Loading the Gel Cap Please refer to the diagrams at the back of this instruction manual. The following procedure is provided by Eric D. Blom, Ph.D. as instructions for loading the voice prosthesis into the gel cap.
  • Page 8 Discard the printed end and use unprinted cap.) Place the open end of the gel cap in the hole of the loading tool with the folded flange of the prosthesis (diagram 8). The gel cap should fit into the groove and cover the prosthesis tip. Verify that the gel cap is securely in place.

    Inserting objects other than the supplied device may cause dislodgment of the voice prosthesis or its components. The Blom-Singer Gel Cap Insertion System is designed for use with Blom-Singer Low Pressure Voice Prostheses only. Do not use this product with any other type devices.

Candida albicans A yeast fungus that is a commonly occurring condition that can infect the mouth or the skin and may multiply and overgrow on to the voice prosthesis. Clinician A health professional, such as a physician, licensed speech- language pathologist, or nurse who is involved in clinical practice.
