3.1.9. Layer 3 Servise

3.1.9.1. IP Addresses

A rooting interfaces requires one or more IP adrresses. IP addresses can be
configured manually or assigned using DHCP. IP addresses must be a valid unicast
IP addresses.

3.1.9.2. IPv6 Routing and Management

IPv6 is the Internet protocol of the next generation of IPv4. IPv6 uses a 128-bit
address, solves the problem of address exhaustion seen in IPv4 and Network
address translators (NATs) becomes unnecessary. With IPv6, security is more
integrated, network configuration is simplified, and more flexible. This switch
supports both EUI-64 interface ID and manually set interface ID.
This switch software supports management access by IPv6 and unicast static
routing. However, some IPv6 routing functions are not supported. IPv6 coexists
with IPv4. Like IPv4, IPv6 routing can be enabled on the physical and VLAN
interfaces. Each Layer 3 routing interface can be used for IPv4, IPv6, or both. Using
IPv6 does not affect to higher layer protocols such as UDP and TCP. For this reason,
a single dual IP stack provided by the Linux operating system is used for both IPv4
and IPv6 transfers. A single socket interface provides access to both IPv4 and IPv6
services in the IP stack. The software of this switch supports static IPv6 routes and
supports OSPFv3 as a dynamic unicast routing protocol of IPv6.
3.1.9.3. ICMP
This product supports Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP).
3.1.9.3.1. Echo Request/Reply
In the default setting of this product, it replies to the Echo Request messages.

3.1.9.3.2. Destination Unreachable

If the router cannot forward the IP packet, the router sends an ICMP Destination
Unreachable message to the source. The router limits the transmission rate of the
