CONVERSION KIT 617-969 - NATURAL GAS TO PROPANE USING SIT 886 GAS VALVE
THIS CONVERSION MUST BE DONE BY A QUALIFIED GAS FITTER

1.
Turn the unit off and allow it to cool to
room temperature.
2.
Unplug or disconnect power source to
stove.
3.
Remove glass front (see manual).
4.
Remove Log or Glass Burner (see
manual).
5. Unscrew NG burner orifice and replace
with LP orifice.
6.
Remove burner orifice with a 1/2" wrench.
Use another wrench to hold on to the elbow
behind the orifice. Discard orifice.

for E18E using SIT 886 NOVA Gas Valve
IF IN DOUBT DO NOT DO THIS CONVERSION !!
7.
Remove pilot retainer clip with pliers and
pull off the pilot cap to expose the pilot
orifice.

Pull off the pilot cap to expose the pilot
orifice.
9.
Unscrew the pilot orifice with the allen key;
Burner Orifice
then replace with the LPG pilot orifice and
the pilot cap, provided in the kit.

10. Reinstall new burner orifice LPG stamped
#55 and tighten
11. Remove Hi/Lo pressure regulator by
removing 2 screws as shown below.
Reverse steps to install LP pressure
regulator.
12. Attach the label "This unit has been
converted to LPG" near or on top of the
serial # decal.
13. Replace yellow "NG" label with red "LPG"
label.
14. Reverse steps 3 - 1.
15. Check for gas leaks.
16. Check inlet and outlet pressures.
17. Check operation of flame control.
18. Adjust the burner aeration setting to Fully
Open and adjust as required for the best
flame picture.
