TROUBLE SHOOTING

PROBLEM
Belt slippage
Rapid belt wear
Belt squeal
Over-heated bearings
Uncut strips at wings
Left front deck not
cutting
Wing safety locks will
not engage
Mower Deck will not
lower.
Vibration on turning
Damaged intermediate
bearing or tractor PTO
shaft
Premature spindle
bearing failure
CAUSE
Lack of tension
Oily drive conditions
Over Loading
Belt slippage
Belt not aligned properly
Raising wings with PTO
engaged
Belt slippage
Belt slippage
Insufficient Lubrication
Insufficient Cooling
Wing raising during turns
Wrong blade
Lock chains too short
Lock springs too loose
Orifice in cylinder plugged
Deck latch in locked
position.
Drawbar length incorrect.
Input shaft does not
collapse easily under power
Lack of lubrication or
grease contaminated
Improper rebuild procedure
Improper bearings

REMEDY
Inspect & replace belt or
tensioner device as required
Clean drive
Increase cutting height or reduce
ground speed

proper spacers
Disengage PTO and wait for
blades to stop before raising
wings

Add grease per manual
Clean top of deck area
surrounding spindle
Close quarter turn valve
This is a right-hand turning
blade, install RH blade
(RH blade, painted red)
Adjust chain length
Tighten lock springs
Remove orifice and remove
obstruction and reassemble
Unlatch deck locks.
Adjust drawbar to specification
Remove input shaft, pull apart
and deburr / grease splines
Grease at proper interval.
