EXTENDING THE PLATFORM

PLATFORM EXTENSION PROCEDURE
1. Enter the platform, close the gate and secure gate latch if supplied (Australian machines only)
2. While facing the rear of the platform, step down on the foot lever and push the top rail of the
extension deck backwards to extend the deck until the pin engages the front stop. Refer to
figure 2-8.
3. Try to move the rails back and forth to make sure the platform extension deck is locked in
position.
PLATFORM RETRACTION PROCEDURE
1. Enter the platform, close the gate and secure gate latch if supplied (Australian machines only).
2. While facing the rear of the platform, step down on the foot lever and pull the top rail of the
extension deck forward until the pin engages the rear stop. Refer to figure 2-8.
3. Try to move the rails back and forth to make sure the platform extension deck is locked in
position.

The extension deck is free to move when the foot lever is pressed down on. Personal injury may result from
accidentally extending or retracting the deck. Make certain the pin is engaged when the deck is extended in the
working position and when it is stowed. DO NOT attempt to extend or retract the platform unless the aerial
platform is on level surface.
