SYMPTOM
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Low Flow
Sample line clogged
indicator is ON
A leak internal to the
Ultima X Sampling Module
Inoperative flow switch
No or low air pressure
to the aspirator
Air pressure regulator
set too low
The sample line is under
a vacuum
Dirty/clogged aspirator
Dirty end-of-line or
in-line filter
Exhaust clogged
No sensor
Sensor is approaching its
output or
end-of-life
low output
The ambient is too cold or
too hot for the sensor
A leak in the sample line
Inoperative sensor
electronics
Exhaust clogged or restricted
Dirty sample filter
Inoperative flow sensor
Sensor wiring plug loose
Bad wiring connection
between instrument and
Ultima X Sampling Module
No power to the unit
Improper voltage selection at
the control instrument
Inoperative relay

PROBABLE SOLUTION
Check and replace or clean sample line
Check tubing inside the Ultima X
Sampling Module, especially the fittings
Replace flow switch (preset at factory)
Supply compressed air to the air inlet
of the Ultima X Sampling Module
Re-adjust air pressure regulator
Remove vacuum from sample line inlet
Clean or replace aspirator
Replace dirty end-of-line or in-line filter
Clean or replace exhaust tubing
Replace sensor
Place the Ultima X Sampling Module in
warmer or cooler ambient environment
Check and repair any leaks in the
sample line
Replace sensor printed circuit board
Unclog or remove the restriction on
the exhaust
Replace dirty sample filter
Replace inoperative flow sensor
Reconnect sensor wiring plug
Check wiring and replace or repair any
inoperative wiring or connections
Turn control instrument ON
Select proper voltage at the control
instrument
Replace printed circuit board assembly
