3.5.3 Spanning Tree Report
The Spanning Tree Report screen shows the current conditions for the bridge network. See Figure 18
and Table 16. To access the Spanning Tree Report, see Figure and follow these steps:
1. From the Main menu, type 2, Switch Configuration and press <Enter>.
2. From the Switch Configuration menu, type 1, Spanning Tree, and press <Enter>.
3. From the Spanning Tree menu, type 3, Spanning Tree Report, and press <Enter>.

Parameter
Designated Root
Lists the identifier of the bridge that appears to this 9135 to be the root.
Topology Change
Shows that the network topology changed.
Root Cost
Shows the cost of the path to the root from the bridge. When the bridge is
the root, this parameter has a value of zero.
Root Port
Lists the identifier of the port that appears to this 9135 to be the root on
the Root bridge.
Max Age (in sec)
Lists the timeout value to test the age of stored information, set by the
Root; all bridges in the spanning tree use the same Max Age time.
Hello Time (sec)
Lists how often the root sends BPDUs so that all bridges in the spanning
tree can monitor the protocol.
Hold Time (sec)
Lists the time between configuration BPDUs; fixed at 1.
Forward Delay (sec) Lists the time, set by the root, that all bridges in the spanning tree wait
when moving to the forwarding state.
Note: Network dynamics may cause differences between the values set for some parameters and the
values shown on the Spanning Tree Report.
