4.6 Recovery Settings

After the selection of this choice, it will appear the table shown on the right:
This is a special menu that has been implemented to avoid unintentional non-
reversible changes to CMOS settings of the board.
4.6.1 Allow all USB hosts off
In case "Internal UHCI USB ports" are set to 0, then no USB ports will be available
at all.
This means that it will become impossible to interact with the board using
keyboards and mice, since there isn't any active USB interface, or a PS/2
interface. This is a very risky configuration, since it means that the system
becomes locked up and cannot be changed anymore using standard HIDs.
By setting this item to Disabled (default configuration), this is not possible
anymore: Each attempt to set "Internal UHCI USB ports" to 0 will be ineffective,
since BIOS will keep that voice set to 2.
Setting this item to Enabled, will allow to disable all USB ports, in order to lock up
the system (please be aware that this will be extremely dangerous, since changes
to the system could become impossible at all).
4.6.2 Hide "Control+Alt+d" Hotkey
Very often, changes to the BIOS could lead to unstable or unwanted situations, from where it is difficult to escape. Most common is the case where "Video Boot
Device" is set to an interface that is not available for the customer, and it is then not possible to see anything more on the display connected.
In these cases, it is possible to restore quickly defaults BIOS settings by pressing "Ctrl+Alt+d" during board's first initialisation after power up. By setting this menu
item to enabled, however, this Hotkey will become ineffective, i.e. it will not be possible any more to restore BIOS deafult settings by pressing these keys
simultaneously. This can be useful to protect customers' settings from final user's changes to BIOS settings.
Please be aware that if you set "Allow all USB hosts off" item to enabled, and then you set also "Internal UHCI USB ports" to 0, then it will also be
impossible to use this hotkey to recover the situation, since there are not possibilities to connect an external keyboard to the board.
