The fundamental elements of an X8 rental display system are: • X8 rental tile (includes modules, X8 Connection Box and frame). • X8 rental feet, foot beams and stacker or X8 rental truss beams • Rental power box. • Digitizer.
General introduction The X8 rental tile has a rugged frame where X8 modules fit into to form one display tile. These modules are connected via a cable string with theX8 Connection Box mounted inside the X8 rental frame. The X8 Connection Box has a HDMI input and output port to connect the X8 rental tile with the neighboring tiles in the display.
The X8 rental frame is made out of aluminium profiles and stainless steel to reduce weight without losing strength. This strong frame allows you to build X8 LED-walls up to 3 frames high stacked or 13 tiles high trussed. The front of the X8 rental frame has a grid where X8 modules fit in forming 3 rows of 3 modules in a chain.
Introduction X8 Module The front of the X8 module consists of a matrix of full color SMD LED’s enclosed by shaders and sheltered in a light weight housing. The rear of the X8 module is equipped with two positioning pins and two latches which enable a precise and fast attachment into the support grid.

X8 rental tiles. The maximum height of a base stand X8 rental display is 3 tiles high. The rental foot covers a width of one X8 tile. The X8 rental foot has the same locking mechanism as the X8 rental frames.
X8 truss beams are required to set up the X8 rental display in a hanging configuration. Barco offers two sizes of X8 truss beams, namely the “X8 single truss beam” and the “X8 dual truss beam”. The single truss beam covers a width of one X8 tile and the dual truss beam covers two tiles.
X8 rental flight case for X8 truss beams and/or rental feet This X8 rental flight case is multifunctional. It can hold 4 X8 rental feet, or 4 X8 single truss beams, or 2 X8 dual truss beams, or a combination of rental feet and truss beams. To make the flight case easy to handle it is provided with castor wheels, handles and stacking dishes.
• Next generation LED products such as the X8 tiles are supported via the NNI interface on the system’s NNI Output Module. Image processing and LED wall configuration and control functions are adjusted from Barco’s Director toolset, or via controls on the DX-700 digitizer front panel itself.
Power boxes General To ensure safe and reliable operation of the X8 display a suitable system for AC power distribution must be used. Though 3 party solutions may be used, several sizes and types of power distributions are available from Barco. For smaller system the “Mono Phase Power Box”...
General The control software is designed as a graphic user interface (GUI) and can be used to control and configure the digitizer as well as the Barco LED wall via a PC (e.g. Director toolset). Minimum required software version: 2.07 Image 5-9 Control software “Director toolset”.
If the distance between the digitizer and the LED-wall exceeds 10 meters, a fiber optic connection must be used to ensure signal integrity and system reliability. Barco offers a complete system solutions including transmitter, fiber and receiver. The choice of system depends on the length of cable required.
Floor mount or hanging X8 rental display The X8 rental tiles can be used in a floor mount or in a hanging rental configuration. These configurations are limited in height, maximum 3 tiles high for a floor mount and maximum 13 tiles high for a hanging configuration. Furthermore, a floor mount (base stand) configuration can only be used indoor and must be equipped with a stacker support system at the rear of the display.
