AccuPyc 1330
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
In
addition to analysis, there are two other automatie operations performed by the pyenometer:
calibration and transducer zero reset.
Analysis measures sampIe volume, from which density ean be derived automatically if sampIe
weight has been entered. The unit comes pre-programmed with default conditions and ready to
perform analyses. It ean be easily reprogrammed to meet your speeifie needs. You ean modify
your own analyses by entering the following parameters: number of purges, purge fill pressure,
number of runs, run fill pressure, equilibration rate, and run precision.
The
run precision option
allows early termination of the analysis if the last five runs are all within a user-specified toler-
anee. By modifying these parameters, you retain control over the two main sections of the analy-
sis: purge and run.
A purge is used strietly for sampIe clean up and air and moisture removal from the ehamber's in-
side. It is aecomplished by c10sing off the pyenometer bloek and filling the cell chamber to the
designated purge fill pressure. The ehambers are then vented to atmosphere, resulting in elimina-
tion of water vapor or other
contaminants.
A run is used for eollecting the preeise, accurate data
used in repon caleulations.
Calibration is used to determine the size of the eell and expansion chambers within the instru-
ment. After ealibration, the cell
and
expansion ehamber volumes are automatically stored in the
set-up parameters.
The zero funetion is used to caleulate a new zero pressure offset. It is measured when the system
is at atmospherie pressure and thermal equilibrium and is subtraeted from all subsequent pressure
readings in order to obtain a true gauge pressure.
