4 Handling
INFORMATION
► The daily duration of use and period of application are gener
ally determined by the physician.
► The initial fitting and application of the product must be car
ried out by qualified personnel.
► Instruct the patient in the handling and care of the product.
► Instruct the patient to see a physician immediately if any
exceptional changes are noted (e.g. worsening of the com
plaint).
4.1 Size Selection
1) Determine the wrist circumference.
2) Determine the orthosis size (see size chart).
4.2 Adaptation
The orthosis is delivered ready for trial fitting, but can be adapted by
qualified personnel if required.
1) Cold mould the integrated reinforcing element to suit the indi
vidual user.
2) Undo the pull loop on the wrist strap and reposition it to suit the
individual user.
3) Shorten the thumb closure along the embossing to suit the indi
vidual user.
4.3 Application
CAUTION
Incorrect or excessively tight application
Risk of local pressure and constriction of blood vessels and
nerves due to improper or excessively tight application
► Ensure that the orthosis is applied properly and fits correctly.
