Double locking system (if
equipped)
The double locking system is an anti-theft
system. It operates when the doors are
locked using the key or remote transmitter.
While this system is operating, the power
door locking switch and door lock levers
inside the cabin cannot be used to unlock
the doors.
WARNING
Never set the double locking system
while passengers are inside the
vehicle. With the system set, people
in the vehicle would not be able to
open the doors from the inside. The
result could be serious injuries or
death.
& To set double locking system
! Setting system using key
1. Remove the key from the ignition
switch and have all occupants get out of
the vehicle.
2. Close all of the doors and the rear gate
securely.
3. Insert the key into the key cylinder of
the driver's door, then turn it in the locking
direction to set the double locking system.
All of the doors and the rear gate will be
locked.

! Setting system using remote trans-
mitter
1. Remove the key from the ignition
switch and have all occupants get out of
the vehicle.
2. Close all of the doors and the rear gate
securely.
3. Press the "LOCK" button on the
transmitter. The hazard warning flashers
will flash once and the double locking
system will be set. All of the doors and the
rear gate will be locked.
NOTE
For the vehicle with the keyless access
function, it is possible to set the double
locking system by pressing the door
lock/unlock button.
