32.3.2 Back up configuration or log files to a server

Follow t he st eps below t o backup configurat ion or log files t o a TFTP server.
1.
I n M e t h od, choose TFTP.
2.
I n Se r ve r I P, ent er t he TFTP server I P address.
3.
I n Cont e n t , choose any one file t ype.
4.
Click Apply t o save a snapshot of your current configurat ion t o t he TFTP server.
OR
Click Ca nce l t o discard t he changes.

Follow t he st eps below t o backup configurat ion or log files t o your com put er.

DESCRIPTION
Choose H TTP t o use t he web configurat or t o backup t he configurat ion. Alt ernat ively,
choose TFTP t o upload t he snapshot t o a TFTP server.
To upload t he backup t o a TFTP server, ent er t he TFTP server I P address.
Choose t he t ype of file for backup. You can back up configurat ion files ( running, st art up, or
backup) or log files ( flash or buffer) .
There are t hree different t ypes of configurat ion files:
St art up - t his is t he configurat ion used when t he swit ch is boot ing up.
Running - t his is t he configurat ion when t he swit ch is running.
Backup - t his is saved in t he Swit ch. I f you m ake changes t o t he current configurat ion, and
t here are problem s, you can revert t o t he Backup configurat ion w it hout having t o rest ore a
new file.
