5000 Series Quick Reference Guide
To load paper in the printer, complete the following steps:
1. Raise the top cover to the open position. On the 55 dBa (5050/5100)
cabinet model printer, press the cover latch to unlock the cover.
2. After noting the current setting of the print gap wheel, turn the wheel
to the LOAD position by pushing the top of the wheel toward the rear
of the printer until it stops.
On the 5180 model, turn the print gap adjust knob to the LOAD
position by turning the knob fully clockwise.

If printer power is on, the fault messages Striker Bar Open and Paper
Out will appear, alternately, on the display panel and the beeper will
sound.
