Using the BER statistics function provided by the mapping
chip to test the BER of the channel without the BER tester
(the corresponding performance point should be added into
the performance management module).
Database management module
The data module of the core board provides some basic
databases: The NE attribute base, NE connection base, NE
installation configuration base, time slot configuration base,
time
slot
tributary
configuration base, alarm setting base, performance setting
base, performance startup setting base and maintenance
operation record base. In order to download the databases
independently, during the creation of the database tables,
the independence of the each table should be ensured. Each
database has a time postmark, which is printed when the
SMN modifies the database. The core board cannot modify
the postmark of the database. It can only check whether the
postmarks of the core board and SMN are consistent to judge
whether their databases are consistent.

Software Module of TDM Line Card

The TDM line cards include 2.5 G optical line board (OL16A), 622
M optical line/tributary board (OL4A), 155 M optical tributary
board (OL1A), E1 electrical tributary board (E1C) and 10M/100M
Ethernet transparent transmission board (TAA). The basic
functions of the TDM line card software include line card
hardware
drive,
management. Besides, different line cards can implement
corresponding special functions. The 2.5 G optical line board,
622 M optical line/tributary board and 155 M optical tributary
board
can
control
command (the execution of the command depends on whether
the selected optical module has this function) and service
selection command (adding/dropping service from/to which TAA
board) and service maintenance loopback. The E1 electrical
tributary board assists the automatic service configuration
module of the NMS to implement the authentication of J2 byte,
while the 10M/100M Ethernet transparent transmission board
implements the free bandwidth configuration. The module
structure of the TDM line cards software is shown in Figure 11,
where no message is transmitted between the TDM line cards.
