UPLC™ Application Manual
the purpose of ignoring the value from the perspec-
tive of the UPLC™.
The GOOSE subscription private data MUST be
defined within the <IED>...</IED> section of the
.cid file.
Below are the detailed descriptions and definitions
for each of the above sections.
IEC Private Parts
The IEC allows for the use of extensions within the
.CID file. These extensions are for manufacturers'
use, and are not standardized as to the content. The
unique identification of the private data objects is
accomplished by using XML namespaces. A full
description of this is beyond the scope of this man-
ual. For further education you are referred to the
XML standards available at www.w3.org and the
IEC 61850 standards.
The UPLC GooseSubscription Definition
The UPLC™ GooseSubscription contains attributes
that define the IEEE 802.1Q vlan information and
the IEC 61850 information that uniquely identify
the incoming GOOSE message. The need for the
identification is to allow the UPLC™ to reject
GOOSE messages at the various layers of the pro-
tocol.
From the example above:
<eapi:GooseSubscription iedName="SEL_421_1"
ldInst="CFG" cbName="Conf" datSet="PLC"
confRev="1"
mAddr="01-0C-CD-01-00-02"
maxTime="500"
a p p I d = " S E L _ 4 2 1 _ 1 "
goCbRef="SEL_421_1CFG/LLN0$GO$PLC"
datSetRef="SEL_421_1CFG/LLN0$PLC">
GooseSubscription Attributes:
iedName
This is the name of the sending IED.
ldInst
The identifier of the <GSE/> protocol communica-
tion definition. Also contained in the data definition
per data item within the <FCDA/> for each.
cbName
Page 8–12
The control block name of the issuing GOOSE
messages' control block.
datSet
The data set name of the data contained within the
issuing GOOSE message.
confRev
The configuration revision contained within the
control block of the issuing message.
mAddr
The GOOSE messages' destination address.
maxTime
Maximum time to live in milliseconds.
vlanPriority
The 802.1Q vlan priority level.
appId
The appId assigned to the GOOSE message by the
<GSEControl /> block.
goCbRef
The IEC61850 address of the GOOSE control.
datSetRef
The IEC61850 address of the data set.
The UPLC GooseRXEntry Definitions
When GOOSE messages are defined in an IEDsí
.cid file they consist of three separate "parts". In the
<Communication/> block there is the <GSE /> def-
inition, which defines the destination address
("MAC address"), the APPID and the VLAN-PRI-
vlanPriority="4"
OITY.
<Server><LDevice><LN0> block, there are two
definitions that contribute to the GOOSE message:
The <DataSet> and the <GSEControl>.
The <GSEControl> creates an instance in the serv-
er that allows for control of the GOOSE messaging
from the IEC 61850 client-server access.
The <DataSet> contains a list of data entries each
known as <FCDA>. These entries form the content
of the GOOSE message. The number of entries and
the order of the data are defined by the IEC 61850
variables contained within the <FCDA>s.
