BRAKE FLUID REPLACEMENT/
AIR BLEEDING
Check the fluid level with the fluid reservoir parallel
to the ground.

Install the diaphragm on the reservoir when
operating the brake lever. Failure to do so
will allow brake fluid to squirt out of the
resewoir during bmke operation.

Avoid spilling flziid on painted surfaces.
Place a rag over the

tank whenever the
system is sewiced

Connect a bleed hose to the bleed valve.
Loosen the caliper bieed valve and pump the brake
lever. Stop operating the lever when fluid stops
flowing out of the bleed valve.

Do not mix different types of

Close the bleed valve, fili the reservoir, and install
the diaphragm.
To prevent piston overtravel and blake fluid see-
page, keep a 20 mm

in) spacer between the
handlebar grip and lever when filling and bleeding
the front brake system. Pump up " r e
system
pressure with the lever until there are no air bubbles
in the fluid flowing out of the reservoir small hole
and lever resistance is felt.
Bleed the systern as described on the next page.
