8.1.7 Profile Binding
When the switch receives IGMP report message, it examines the profile ID bound to the access
port to determine if the port can join the multicast group. If the multicast IP is not filtered, the
switch will add the port to the forward port list of the multicast group. Otherwise, the switch will
drop the IGMP report message. In that way, you can control the multicast groups that users can
access.
Choose the menu Multicast→IGMP Snooping→Profile Binding to load the following page.
The following entries are displayed on this screen:
Displays the Profile ID you have created.
The attributes of the profile.
Permit: Only permit the IP address within the IP range and
deny others.
Deny: Only deny the IP address within the IP range and
permit others.
Enter start IP address of the IP-range.
Enter end IP address of the IP-range.
Select the desired entry for configuration.
Displays index of the IP-range which is not configurable.
Displays the start IP address of the IP-range.
Displays the
end IP address of the IP-range.
