Right-Click Menus

Different areas of the Scope windows support additional Igor functionality though right-click menus.
Note that these are not supported by Sutter Instrument, so use at your own discretion.
4.3 Scope Window – Membrane Test
The Membrane Test Scope window is used to monitor seal formation and cell health for a whole-cell
voltage-clamp configuration.
The top signal pane displays a Current signal, corresponding to one of the three basic Membrane Test
steps:
Bath
Seal
Cell
The bottom signal pane displays the Voltage command signal.
The Membrane Test Scope window operates similarly to the Data Acquisition Scope window, with
some unused controls removed. The Persistence Display button is disabled, as the Membrane Test
only supports non-persistent mode.
Membrane Test acquisition parameters are set in the Preferences dialog.
4.4 Scope Window – Free Run (Scope)
The Free Run (Scope) window simulates a one-channel oscilloscope. This provides you with a quick
method of viewing repetitive data.
Opens the Routine Editor dialog, for configuration, management and
activation of routines. Routines can be configured for:
A time tag is stored in the data at the time you click this button. An
optional text comment can be included. A black vertical cursor marks
a tag in the data; see the metadata for any tag text.
Note: in "demo" mode, tag timing is not accurate, and no tags are set in
the first sweep.
With the pipette in the bath solution, a square pulse is visible.
When an on-cell patch is formed between the pipette and the cell,
sharp spikes occur at the square-pulse edges.
After a whole-cell patch is created, the capacitance spikes are ana-
lyzed for membrane resistance and capacitance measures.
