NOTE:
The OfficeServ 7100 supports two forms of MGI's:
1. On-board 8-channel MGI that is integrated on the MP-10 card. This form of the
MGI shares the same IP configuration and physical LAN connection as the MP-
10. The on-board channels are activated by license key.
2. MGI-16 card can be installed in either of the two universal slots. This card offers
16 channels and must be assigned its own unique IP configuration and has its
own LAN connection.

MGI Hardware Overview

The MGI (Media Gateway Interface) card supports a diverse range of features and
applications. The selectable features are H.323 VoIP trunking, SIP VoIP trunking,
OfficeServ 7100 System Networking via IP and the Samsung ITP 5100 series
keyphones. MGI cards support these features on a per port basis. Each MGI card has
an embedded RJ 45 10/100 BaseT Ethernet female connector on the face of each card
which allows a standard RJ45 UTP data cable connection for IP network connections.
LEDs on the front of the card provide operational status. The MGI cards automatically
detect 100BaseT Ethernet networks. There are no selectable options on the MGI cards.
The on-board MGI of the 7100 shares the MP-10's RJ-45 connector.
The on board MGI and the MGI-16 support the following services and features:
IP Phones
IP Networking (Network multiple systems over an IP Network)
G729 CODEC, G.723.1, G.711, G.729A CODECs
