7.3 Adjusting the volume restriction Q

The volume restriction Q (see Fig. 19) serves to adapt the air output capacity to the size of
the actuator:
Actuators with a transit time < 1 s, e.g. linear actuators with an effective area smaller than
240 cm², require a restricted air flow rate.
Î Setting to MIN
Actuators with a transit time ≥ 1 s do not require the air flow rate to be restricted.
Î Setting to MAX
Additional points that apply concerning the volume restriction:
Î Intermediate settings are not permitted.
Î Re-initialize positioner after changing the volume restriction setting.
