Is there a great deal of dirt, or dust
adhering to the parts?
Is there paper dust at each of the
following detectors and in the slip
paper path?
Slip T. O. F. detector
Slip B. O. F. detector
Paper ejection detector
Validation detector
H. P. detector
Is the receipt side platen roller
white with paper dust?
Are other springs deformed or
dis-engaged?
Is there paper dust on the cutter
blade or other foreign matter
adhering to it?
Check to see if reading can be
performed and checks can be
inserted.
Check the lubrication.
Are there any abnormal noises or
printing errors when operating?
Handling
Use a small vacuum cleaner for
computer equipment to clean
thoroughly.
Use an air spray can to blow out
paper dust.
Dampen a cloth with a small
amount of water and wipe the
roller surface.
Reattach or replace the springs.
Remove the paper dust or foreign
matter.
Clean the MICR head (see page
B-3).
