6-1 TAKE-UP ARM
A. Description
The drive to the take-up arm is obtained through the take-up clutch mechanism (items 22-32)
during normal forward projection. During rewind the motor is reversed, disengaging the
clutch cam (31) removing all drive to the take-up arm. In forward the drive is transmitted via
the drive pulley (5) to the arm belt and the take-up spindle (6). The amount of take-up
torque is controlled by the friction of the belt against the pulley (5) and spindle pulley (6).
The amount of friction is adjusted by a combination of the tension spring (11) and the
weight of the take-up reel.
