The ink empty message will appear when the cartridge reads empty. There will be a small buffer of 1-
th
prints to continue printing. After the 10
print, the ignore button will no longer become disabled.
However, once that limit has been reach the machine will no longer allow prints to be performed until
the specific empty cartridge has been replaced with a new cartridge.
If the LCD control panel display still reads "NOT FOUND" after a new cartridge is installed, it may be
installed improperly. Pull out the cartridge and insert it carefully but fully until it stops. Do not force the
cartridge to avoid any damage to the printer. Please note that without installing all 6 cartridges, the
printer will not print.
Even when you do not use the printer for an extended period of time, do not remove the ink cartridges
from the printer. Even if the ink cartridges are empty, keep the cartridges installed to help keep air away
from the ink delivery system. For Printer storage for an extended time period, it is recommended to flush
ink carts with Cleaning Solution then replace then with HV storage solution. See section 9.5. Switching
from Ink to Cleaning Solution Using the Startup Fill Function
Ricoh recommends the use of Ricoh authorized Ink cartridges which have been specifically developed for
the RICOH Ri 3000 and RICOH Ri 6000 printer. Use of other inks or tampering of the ink cartridge will
not only produce poor quality prints but may damage your printer. Ricoh is not responsible for any
damaged caused to the printer through the use of third party inks. If you do not have a replacement
cartridge, leave the old cartridge in the printer until you are ready to replace it with a new one.
If a non-Ricoh authorized ink cartridge is used, the error message "NOT FOUND" will appear. In addition,
a pop-up error message will appear stating, "Authorized cart not found, Unauthorized product may
damage your machine, to continue press "ignore" otherwise "cancel.
