Testing functions, Diagnostics and Fault Elimination
Special features of the CPU 31xC-2 DP, 315-2 DP and 318-2 DP
Applies to the following CPUs
CPU 313C-2 DP
CPU 314C-2 DP
CPU 315-2 DP
(6ES7315-2AG10-0AB0)
CPU 318-2 DP
If CPUs 31xC-2DP and 315-2 DP (6ES7315-2AG10-0AB0) are used as the master
or if the CPU 318-2 DP is used as the master in DPV1 mode, you should assign
two different diagnostic addresses for an intelligent slave: one diagnostic address
for slot 0 and one diagnostic address for slot 2. These two addresses perform the
following functions:
• The diagnostic address for slot 0 reports in the master all events relating to the
complete slave (station representative), e.g. station failure.
• The diagnostic address for slot 2 is used to report events that affect this slot.
For example, if the CPU is acting as an intelligent slave, it returns the diagnostic
interrupts for operating state transitions.
Event Recognition
The table below shows how CPU 31x-2 operating as DP master recognizes
operating mode transitions of a CPU operating as DP slave or data exchange
interruptions.

Event recognition by CPUs 31x-2 as the DP master

What happens in the DP slave?
Calls OB 86 with the message Station failure (coming event;
diagnostic address of the DP slave assigned to the DP
master)
with I/O access: Call of OB122 (I/O access error)
Call of OB82 with the message Module error
(incoming event; diagnostic address of the DP slave assigned
to the DP master; Variable OB82_MDL_STOP=1)
Call of OB82 with the message Module OK
(outgoing event; diagnostic address of the DP-Slave assigned
to the DP master; Variable OB82_MDL_STOP=0)
