WEP Encryption Without 802.1X Authentication

1. Double-tap the Client icon on the command bar
2. On the
Main Window
(see page 7-3), tap the port and select Configure on the popup menu.
3. On the
Wireless Networks Tab
(You may have to move the SSID from the list of Available Networks to the list of Configured Networks or add the SSID.)
4. On the
Profile Info Tab
(This is necessary only if the SSID is not broadcasting its SSID.)
5. On the
WEP Mgmt Tab
If the AP uses Shared authentication, also select Use key to authenticate.
If the AP uses Open authentication, leave it unselected.
6. Enter the WEP Key; see
7. On the main window, tap Client > Restart to restart the Client.
8. Wait as the Client connects.
9. When the connection is complete, the
Authenticated. However, the log file (see

Associating With Open APs

To associate with open APs means to set up the 802.11b/g radio without authentication or encryption.
1. Double-tap the Client icon on the command bar

(see page 7-3), tap Client > Restart to restart the client.
9. Wait as the Client connects.
10. When connection is complete, the
"Associated".
Note: If DHCP service is not enabled on the network, then a static IP address and subnet mask would need to be entered
manually.
