BASIC OPERATION

■ Setting the squelch level

The transceiver has a noise squelch circuit to mute undesired
noise when no signal is received.
q Push [SQLY] or [SQLZ] to select the squelch level.
• 'SQL--0' is open squelch and 'SQL--10' is tight squelch.
• The "
" icon appears while the squelch is open.
w Wait for 1 second to return to the previous display.

■ Lock function

The lock function prevents accidental frequency changes or
accidental function activation.
q Push [
] to turn ON the lock function.
• The "
" icon appears.
w To turn OFF the function, hold down [

Appears while the key lock
function is activated.
