Installing the Hardware
Removing occurs in the reverse order:
Ê Remove the two knurled screws.
Ê Pull out the system and carefully remove it from the rack.

Never lift the server using the handles on the front panel.

Cabling the System

The server blades and PCI modules are accessible on the front of the system
(refer to chapter "The Server Blade", sections "Control and Connection Panel"
on page 76, "LAN-PCI Module" on page 79 and "FC-PCI Module" on page 80).
The switch blade and management blade are accessible on the rear of the
system (refer to chapter "The Switch Blade", section "Control and Connection
Panel" on page 104 and/or to chapter "The Management Blade", section
"Control and Connection Panel" on page 112).
Ê Connect the LAN cables according to the desired system configuration (see
chapter "Blade Server System LAN Port Assignment" on page 63).
4.4.1

Connecting External Devices

The ports for connecting external devices are located:
– on front of the Blade Server System via each server blade (port marked with
1 in figure 8 on page 32)
– on front of the Blade Server System if installed, via each LAN-PCI module
(ports marked with 2 in figure 8 on page 32)
– on front of the Blade Server System if installed, via each FC-PCI module
(ports marked with 3 in figure 8 on page 32)
– on the rear upper left and right side of the blade server system (ports marked
with 4, 5 and 10 in figure 8 on page 32)
– on the rear via the management blades (ports marked with 6, 7, 8 and 9 in
figure 8 on page 32)
– on the rear via the switch blades (ports marked with 11 in figure 8 on
page 32)
