3. When you replace the system board, make sure that you remove the Integrated Management Module II
(IMM2) Advanced Upgrade and place it on the new system board. For information about the Advanced
Upgrade, see "Using the remote presence and blue-screen capture features" on page 115.
4. Reactivate any Features on Demand features after replacing the system board. Instructions for
automating the activation of features and installing activation keys is in the Lenovo Features on Demand
User's Guide. To download the document, go to https://fod.lenovo.com/lkms, log in, and click Help.
Read the safety information in "Safety" on page v and "Installation guidelines" on page 35.
If you are replacing a server component in the server, you need to turn off the server and peripheral devices,
and disconnect the power cords and all external cables.
To install the system board, complete the following steps.
Step 1.
Touch the static-protective package that contains the system board to any unpainted metal surface
on the server; then, remove the system board from the package.
Step 2.
Align the guide pins on the chassis with the holes on the system board. Then, insert the system
board.

Note: Make sure that none of the server cables are caught under the system board.
Step 3.
Slightly pull up the release pin and slide the system board toward the rear of the server.
