Removing, Inspecting and Installing the Main Chassis Assembly

9-6-1
To remove, inspect and reinstall the Main Chassis Assembly (see Figure 9-5), do the following:
1.
Turn off Clinitek Atlas and Rack Sample Handler. Remove handler from the Atlas instrument (4 allen
screws) and set handler on a flat, stable bench.
2.
Remove the Front Cover (item 5 on Figure 9-1) by removing two small philips (or cross) screws (item 6)
and two M3 x 12 metric allen screws (item 7).
3.
Remove the Program Card that plugs into The Main PC Board (see item 6 on page 10.24 to locate card)
and set it aside.
4.
Stand up the Rack Sample Handler on its rear frame. Use care not to drop unit while it is standing on
this rear frame!
5.
Remove the two M3 x 16 (M2 x 16 in early units) metric allen screws (item 5 on page 10.32) that hold the
Main Chassis Assembly in place. Note this assembly will swing down on its hinge once these screws are
removed!
6.
Once the Main Chassis Assembly is swung down, the CPU and I/O PC Boards may be replaced by
removing two small philips screws (see Figure 9-6, item 10). Then, a grey plastic handle (item 8) may be
pushed to the right to unplug both pc boards from the Mother Board. Other Assemblies that can be
accessed include the Power Supply (Figure 9-5, item 10), Driver Assembly PCB (13) and Fuse (5).
