This chapter describes removal, inspection, repair and replacement of the major assemblies in the
CLINITEK?ATLAS?Rack Sample Handler.

9-3 Removing the Instrument Covers
Tools required: metric allen wrench set small philips screwdriver
NOTE: Power OFF all systems and remove Rack Sample Handler from the Clinitek Atlas unit before
removing most covers, except the front cover.

To remove the instrument covers:
1. Remove the Front Cover (item 5 on Figure 9-1) by removing two small philips (cross) screws (item 6) and
two M3 x 12 (M2 x 12 in early units) metric allen screws (item 7).
2. Remove the Sensor Cover (item 1, Figure 9-1) by removing a small philips screw (6) and sliding the cover
out of the unit.
3. Remove Top Cover (Figure 9-1 item 2) by removing three small philips screws (6) and sliding cover out of
unit.
4. Remove Power Entry Cover (Figure 9-1, item 3) by removing a knob screw (item 4).
5. See page 9.2 to continue. Remove the Plate (Figure 9-2, item 5) by removing two M3 x 6 metric allen
cross screws.
6. Remove the Cover 3 (Figure 8-2, item 4) by removing four small philips screws (6).
7. Remove the Cover 2 (Figure 8-2, item 1) by removing two small philips screws (6).
8. Remove the Right Back Cover (Figure 9-2, item 2) by removing five small philips screws (item 6).
9. Remove the Left Back Cover (Figure 9-2, item 3) by removing four small philips screws (item 6).
