Figure 6-14 below is a block diagram of the Crossfeed electrical operation. Sensor ORG2 detects
the presence of a tube rack at the start of the crossfeed area. The ORG2 signal is sent via
connector CN121 to connector CN9 on the Mother Board and then to the I/O (Sub) PC Board. The
I/O board then sends this rack status to the CPU (Main) PC Board to enable motor PM2, which
rotates the Crossfeed Assembly to move the rack to the left.
6-3-11-5
As the tube rack travels across this area, it is first detected by sensor PH2, which informs the CPU
board of the rack抯 progress. At the same time, metal proximity sensor PH7 checks for the
presence of a metal Stop Marker in a rack tube position, which would inform the CPU board that
this is the last rack and to end the run after this rack is completed.
6-3-11-6
As the rack approaches the pipette sampling run position, sensor PH3 detects the rack. Then as
the rack is moved across this sampling position, photoelectric switch sensor PH4 detects whether
there are tubes in the rack. If a tube is seen, the CPU board stops the rack at this position in line
with the pipette and informs the Clinitek Atlas instrument that a tube is ready to be sampled by the
pipette.
