Section 3.5.1

Installing Modules

Upon installing a new module in the device, all the features associated to the module are available in the
operating system. For more information, refer to the ROS User Guide for the RSG2488.
To install a module, do the following:
1.
Make sure power to the device has been disconnected and wait approximately two minutes for any
remaining energy to dissipate.
2.
If the device is installed in a rack, remove it from the rack.
3.
Remove the current module from the slot. For more information, refer to

Insert the new module into the slot.

Tighten the screws to secure the module.
6.
If necessary, install the device in the rack.
7.
Connect power to the device.

Removing Modules

Once a module is removed, all the features associated with the module are hidden or disabled in the operating
system.
To remove a module, do the following:
