– The needle is damaged
– The wrong size needle has been used
– The presser foot is not attached correctly
– The machine is not threaded correctly
– The presser foot pressure is not correct
Needle breaks
– The needle is damaged
– The needle is not correctly inserted
– Wrong needle size for the fabric
– The wrong presser foot is attached
– The needle clamp screw is loose
– The presser foot that is used is not appropriate
– The upper thread tension is too tight
– Stitch width is set too high
– The fabric was pulled during sewing
– The presser foot for sewing thick fabrics such as
Loose stitches
– Threading is incorrect
– Bobbin case is threaded incorrectly
– Needle / fabric / thread combination is incorrect
– The thread tension is incorrect
Stitches gather
– The wrong presser foot is used
– The thread tension is incorrect
Possible cause
– The machine is not threaded correctly
– The thread tension is too tight
– The thread is too thick for the needle
– The needle is not inserted correctly
– The thread is wound around the spool holder pin
– The needle is damaged
– The bobbin case is not inserted correctly
– The bobbin case is not threaded correctly
– The bobbin thread tension is too tight
– The needle is not inserted correctly
for the type of stitch that you wish to sew
denim etc. was not used
Important: In the event of a malfunction, defective device or after the machine
has fallen down, disconnect the mains power plug immediately.
Remedy
– Rethread the machine
– Reduce the thread tension (lower number)
– Select a larger needle
– Reinsert the needle (flat side towards the back)
– Remove the spool and wind thread onto spool
– Replace the needle
– Remove and reinsert the bobbin case and pull on the thread.
The thread should pull easily
– Check both bobbin and bobbin case
– Loosen bobbin thread tension as described
– Reinsert needle (flat side towards the back)
– Insert a new needle
– Choose a needle to suit the thread
– Insert the presser foot correctly
– Rethread the machine
– Increase the presser foot pressure
– Insert a new needle
– Insert the needle correctly (flat side towards the back)
– Choose a suitable needle
– Select the correct presser foot (see sewing examples from page 28) 28 ff
– Reinsert the needle and retighten the screw
– Use the recommended presser foot (see sewing examples
from page 28)
– Reduce the thread tension
– Set the stitch width as recommended (see sewing examples
from page 28)
– Never pull the fabric when sewing, just guide it
– Use the correct presser foot
– Check the threading
– Thread the bobbin case as illustrated
– Adapt combination
