3: General Purpose Interface Port (GPI)

This mini-"Phoenix" connector provides a selection of programmable pins to allow
for basic remote control of several amplifier features and the ability to remotely

Even when not connected to the remote software, the LED will still flash (along
with the Mono and Stereo LEDs on the rear), aiding identification when trying to
locate connections/diagnose problems in a large rack of units.
This switch is also used to force the amplifier into "boot load" mode to upgrade
the internal firmware. Normally, this can be achieved though ICORE directly,
but in certain circumstances, or if ICORE is not installed on a local computer, a
basic terminal based firmware upgrade is still possible. Please see the section
entitled "Recovery Update Procedure" on page 58 for more information.

This momentary action switch is used in
conjunction with ICORE to easily identify
amplifiers remotely on the network.
Within the ICORE software, pressing this switch
will cause the amplifier's "panel" to flash on screen,
along with the "POWER" LED on the front panel
turning amber and flashing for five seconds, before
turning red or green again (depending on
active/standby status).
