Replacng the mcroprocessor
16. To secure the microprocessor in the socket, close the microprocessor
retainer and lock it into position with the small handle.
17. Install the retention module for the heat sink and fan assembly on the
system board.
18. Install the heat sink and fan assembly on the system board.
19. Connect the heat sink and fan assembly cable to the new system
board. See the system board illustration for your machine type at

20. Install the new system board into the chassis and align the screw holes
with those in the chassis. Insert and tighten the screws that secure the
system board.

Important
The heat sink and microprocessor might be very hot. Make sure
these components are cool enough to safely handle before
continuing this procedure.
