Accessing the Centrifuge in Case of Power Failure

Accessing the Centrifuge in Case of Power Failure
If the facility power fails only momentarily, the centrifuge resumes operation when power is
restored and the rotor returns to set speed. However, if the rotor comes to a complete stop the
centrifuge run must be restarted when the power is restored. In the event of an extended power
failure, you may have to trip the door-locking mechanism manually to remove the rotor and
retrieve your sample.

Any maintenance procedure requiring removal of a panel exposes the operator to
the possibility of electrical shock and/or mechanical injury. Therefore, turn the
power off and disconnect the instrument from the main power source by removing
the Mains (power) plug from the outlet receptacle and refer such maintenance to
qualified service personnel.
