You need to select the color content of the output file. You
can select either one- or four-color output by clicking on the
correct radio button.
Selecting RGB –>CMYK creates a four-color separation file,
which can be printed as a full-color image.
Selecting RGB –>K creates a file that can be used for black-
and-white or other single-color printing.
The Dot Gain box in the Edit Presses dialog box displays the
dot gain value calculated from the combination of your speci-
fied ink standard, paper, and press settings.
Dot gain cannot be altered in this box. Print to Press software
is extremely accurate and its selection rarely needs to be
changed. In the rare case where you need to change this set-
ting, you can assign a new value in the Edit Presses dialog of
the Press pop-up menu. See Appendix A for further informa-
tion about dot gain before changing the dot gain settings.
The Setup box allows you to save and retrieve preconfigured
selections for the ink standard, paper, press, and one-color or
four-color output settings. The use of a setup eliminates the
need to select each of these settings individually, and allows
you to easily maintain a variety of standard setups for differ-
ent presses and printing jobs. Setups also reduce the likelihood
of error because all of the settings are stored together, elimi-
nating the possibility that the user may fail to properly select
one of the settings
Follow these steps to create a new setup:
Click Setup on the Print to Press dialog box.
1
Select Edit Setups from the pop-up menu.
2
Type a name for this new setup in the Setup box.
