Scan types
The transceiver has 4 scan types to search for
signals, Tag function and 4 Resume options, for
scanning versatility.

ch 40
#
ch 39
Repeatedly scans all tagged channels in sequence.

#
An Open scan automatically searches for busy
channels and enables you to locate new stations for
communication or listening.

Priority
channel

#
ch 09
Repeatedly checks the preset Priority
channel after scanning 5 tagged channels.
" " = Tagged channel.
#
Group scan and Priority scan repeatedly searches for
a signal on the Priority channel while scanning the
tagged channels. This is useful when waiting for a call
on the Priority channel or several tagged channels.
Group and Priority scans are performed differently
while transmitting. Group scan transmits on a Priority
channel or on a busy channel, and Priority scan
transmits only on the Priority channel.
Tagged channels are independently set for Open,
Group and Priority scans. All channels may be preset
as tagged channels for all scans.

Scans all repeater channels (01 to 08 and 41 to 48)* in
sequence. If there are no busy channels after scanning
channels 01 to 08 and 41 to 48,* the scan begins from 01
again, and then the transceiver transmits a signal to search
for a repeater while scanning.
* Excludes emergency repeater 05.

Need help?
Do you have a question about the IC-410PRO and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
I have the ic-41 pro. I can transmit but no longer receive. I’m not aware of any settings changing. I’m using ch15. The screen shows sql , q and below that. OS S in black squares
Your Icom IC-410PRO may be able to transmit but not receive on channel 15 due to one or more of the following reasons:
1. Quiet Mode (Selcall or Tone Squelch) is ON – If Quiet Mode is enabled, the radio will not unmute unless it receives the correct Selcall or tone. Turn OFF Quiet Mode in the Set mode.
2. Tone Squelch setting mismatch – If the tone squelch is set incorrectly or does not match the other radios, you will not hear incoming transmissions. Set the correct tone squelch setting for the user group.
3. Squelch level is set too high – If the squelch level is too high, weak signals may be blocked. Decrease the squelch level in the Set mode.
4. Monitor function is OFF – If the Monitor function is OFF, you might not hear transmissions that don’t match the squelch settings. Press [MONI] to temporarily open the squelch and check for incoming signals.
Check and adjust these settings to restore receiving capability on channel 15.
