NOTE: If the license capacity for LUN Security XP Extension is insufficient in the disk array on the
secondary site, you might not be able to create Continuous Access XP pairs. For more information about

Combining Continuous Access XP and Volume Manager

LUSE volumes can be assigned to Continuous Access XP pairs, if the P-VOL and S-VOL have the same LU
type and number of LDEVs. To perform LUSE operations on an existing Continuous Access XP P-VOL or
S-VOL, delete the pair first to return the volume to SMPL status.

NOTE: If you allocate a LUSE volume consisting of LDEVs set across more than one CU to the Continuous
Access XP pair, you must select CU Free for an RCU (see
LUSE volume consisting of LDEVs set across more than one CU cannot create a pair with the volume of an
XP12000 disk array because CU Free cannot be added as an RCU with the XP12000 and disk array.

Combining Continuous Access XP and Custom Volume Size (CVS)

Custom volumes can be assigned to Continuous Access XP pairs if the S-VOL has the same capacity as the
P-VOL. If you need to perform CVS operations on an existing Continuous Access XP P-VOL or S-VOL, delete
the pair first to return the volume to SMPL status.

Combining Continuous Access XP and Cache LUN XP

HP Cache LUN XP volumes can be assigned to Continuous Access XP pairs, and Cache LUN XP operations
can be performed on Continuous Access XP P-VOLs and S-VOLs.

Combining Continuous Access XP and LUN Manager

LUN Manager operations do not affect Continuous Access XP operations. Volumes under secure ports
and/or assigned to host groups or iSCSI targets can also be assigned to Continuous Access XP pairs.
Volumes assigned to Continuous Access XP pairs can also be assigned to secure ports, host groups, or
iSCSI targets for LUN Manager.

NOTE: Continuous Access XP S-VOLs cannot be accessed by any UNIX/PC server host unless the pair is
split.
