: Know your scroll saw. Do
not plug in the scroll saw until you have read
and understand this Owner's Manual. Learn
the tool's applications and limitations, as
well as the potential hazards related to this
tool. Following this rule will reduce the risk of
electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
Always wear eye protection.
Any power tool can throw foreign
objects into your eyes and cause
permanent eye damage.
ALWAYS wear safety goggles (not glasses) that
comply with ANSI safety standard Z87.1.
Everyday glasses have only impact resistant
lenses. They ARE NOT safety glasses.

Glasses or goggles not in
compliance with ANSI Z87.1 could cause
serious injury when they break.
! WARNING:
In addition to wearing eye
protection, always wear hearing protection
and a dust mask. Use only in well-ventilated
areas. Using personal safety devices and
working in a safe environment reduces the risk
of injury.

Before operating the tool,
make sure the blade guard is in good
condition and is correctly positioned. If it
does not operate correctly, do not use the scroll
saw until the problem has been corrected.
Never use the tool without the guard in place
and check it regularly to make sure it remains in
working order.
This tool is equipped with an electrical cord
that has an equipment-grounding conductor
and a grounding plug. The plug must be
plugged into a matching receptacle that is
properly installed and grounded in accordance
with all local codes and ordinances.
The scroll saw should be securely fastened
to a sturdy stand or work bench. If there is any
tendency for the stand or workbench to move
during operation, the stand or workbench should
be fastened to the floor.

SCROLL SAW SAFETY

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR REFERENCE
Never stand on the tool. Serious injury could
occur if the tool is tipped or if the blade is
unintentionally contacted.
Turn the tool OFF and wait for the blade to
stop moving before removing the workpiece or
changing any settings.
Make sure the table bevel locking knob is
tightened before turning the switch ON.
Clear the table of all debris before operating
the saw. Do not perform layout, set-up or
assembly work on the table when the saw is in
operation.
Never reach under the scroll saw table when
the saw is turned ON.
Check for damaged parts before each use.
Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of
moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting or
any other conditions that may affect the saw's
operation. Parts that are damaged should be
properly repaired or replaced before using the
saw.
Never cut ferrous metals or masonry with this
tool.
Never use the scroll saw in an area where
flammable liquids or gases are present.
Never use solvents to clean plastic parts.
Solvents may dissolve or otherwise damage the
material.
Never reach under the scroll saw table when
the motor is running.
Always adjust the hold-down foot so it keeps a
downward pressure on the workpiece. A
workpiece that is not properly held down will
chatter and will not cut smoothly. In extreme
cases, the blade will be broken.
