4.10.16 Filter Buss
The drawing below represents the output of the input bridge BR1.
The bulk of the filtering is done when the capacitors C37,C40, C44, C47 charge. These large value capaci-
tors act as a well, resisting changes in voltage with an ebb and flow effect, charging and discharging in
contrast to the rise and fall of their input voltage. A graphical representation of this is shown in the drawing
below.
The resistors R14 & R15, are in place to bleed off the residual voltage in the capacitors once the power
supply is de-energized, and so they are referred to as "bleeder resistors".
