Configure passwords

Perform the commands in the following table to configure ACLI passwords.
cli password serial
cli password telnet
no password security
cli password read-only
cli password read-write
cli password stack
cli password switch

Purpose
Enable PoE for AP ports.
Disable unused ports.
Set fast spanning tree leaning on access
ports.
Name uplink ports. If you need dual uplinks,
Avaya recommends that you add a second
switch, in a stack, and use port 48 of the
second switch as the second uplink.
Terminate port configuration.
Enter configuration mode at the interface
level to configure port 48 as an uplink port.
Enable autonegotiate.
Depending on the upstream switch location,
set spanning tree to normal or disabled.
Example: UP-128.206.95.254-1/2
Terminate uplink configuration.
Display interface settings.
Purpose
Enable or disable the serial port password.
Enable or disable Telnet and Web
passwords.
Remove password complexity and change
frequency restrictions.
Modify the read-only password (you are
required to enter the password twice).
Modify the read-write password.
Modify stack passwords.
Modify stand-alone switch passwords.
