6.2-Water Test

Verify correct positioning and alignment of jets by running the circulation pump and observing jet
shapes. Check for excessive splashing at the top of stroke; optional splash guards may be installed.
Eliminate any leaks or spraying.
Check for clogged nozzles. ALL nozzles must flow.
Coordinate incremental skirt lowering with workers outside boiler while monitoring jets.
During water test, record pressure reading at pump inlet and outlet. Compare DP to specified value.
Before Startup, run a water level high limit check.

Jet streams must fall
aligned with target plates.
Bottommost streams must
clear the electrode box opening.
All boxes should have the same
water level during operation.
