Remove the torx-head screw from the
underside of the seat; then lift on the back
of the seat and move it up and rearward to
remove it.
CAUTION
On the LXR prior to removing the
seat, lift the rear of the seat and dis-
connect the seat heater harness con-
nector.
To install the seat, use the following pro-
cedure:
Route the front tab on the seat through
the seat-base hold-down bracket; then
install the seat and secure using the cap
screw.
NOTE: On the LXR prior to lower-
ing and securing the seat, connect
the seat heater harness connector.
Removable Seat (M
8000 Sno Pro/LTD/HCR)
To remove the seat, use the following
procedure:
1. Remove both torx-head screws from
the side of the seat; then remove the
four tabs from the seat base from the
lower console. Pull back and remove
the seat cover and foam.
To install the seat, use the following pro-
cedure:
1. Position the seat foam on top of the
gas tank; then slide the seat cover
over the gas tank and foam.
2. Insert the seat base tabs into the slots
in the console; then secure the bot-
tom of the seat cover to the tunnel
using the existing screws. DO NOT

over-tighten.

Towing

If the snowmobile is to be towed by
another snowmobile, do not tow using
the loops in the skis. The tow rope should
be attached to the spindles.
Arctic Power Valve
(APV) System (8000)
CAUTION
The recommended engine oil to use
is either Arctic Cat C-TEC2 or APV
Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil (see Gasoline-
Oil - Recommended Injection Oil sub-
section in this section). Any substi-
tute may cause an APV malfunction.
This RPM controlled servomotor (servo)
SNO-273
actuated system adjusts the size of the
exhaust ports to provide peak perfor-
mance throughout the RPM range.
The system consists of an exhaust valve
assembly mounted to the exhaust side of
each cylinder and connected by adjust-
able cables to an electronic servo
mounted beneath the hood.
NOTE: The mounting location of the
servo will vary from model to model.
