TROUBLESHOOTING
Faults
The engine turns but does not start
The engine dies during the trip
The engine warning lamp lights
up/flashes
The ABS warning lamp lights up
High oil consumption
The battery is discharged
Possible cause
Defect in the fuel injection system
The fuel quality is insufficient
Lack of fuel
Defect in the fuel injection system
Defect in the fuel injection system
The ABS fuse is blown
Large difference in wheel speeds of the
front and rear wheels
Malfunction in ABS
The engine oil level is too high
The engine oil is too thin (low viscos-
ity)
The hazard warning flasher is switched
on
The battery is not being charged by the
alternator
The ignition was not switched off while
the vehicle was parked
Action
Read out the fault memory using the KTM diag-
nostics tool.
Add suitable fuel.
