3.2.2. LOCATION OF WALL VENT OUTLETS

A
Clearance above a slope, veranda, porch, terrace or balcony.
B Clearance to a window or door opening.
C
Clearance to a permanently closed window.
Vertical clearance under a ventilated soffit.
D
(For a vent outlet located within a horizontal distance of 2 feet (61 cm) from the
opening of the soffit to the center of the vent outlet.)
E
Clearance to a non-ventilated soffit.
F
Clearance under a veranda, porch, terrace or balcony.
G
Clearance to an inside corner.
H
Clearance to each side of the axis extending over a meter-regulator.
I Clearance to a meter ventilation outlet.
Clearance to a non-mechanical air inlet adjacent to the building or to an air inlet
J
adjoining any other appliance.
K Clearance to a mechanical air inlet.
L Clearance above a paved sidewalk or paved path located on a public property.

Clearance above the roof.
Clearance to adjacent walls, including neighbour's houses

NOTE:
1) In accordance with the most recent National Installation Code for natural gas and propane, CSA B419.1
2) In accordance with the latest National Fuel Code, ANSI Z223.1 / NFPA 54.
3) A vent must not come out directly above a sidewalk or paved driveway located between two family residences serving both dwellings.
4) Permitted only if veranda, porch, deck or balcony is fully open on at least two sides beneath the floor.
5) Clearance complying with local installation codes and the requirements of the gas supplier.
