Troubleshoot NI-488.2 Problems
Add a New GPIB Interface

To troubleshoot NI-488.2 problems, run the NI-488.2 Troubleshooting
Wizard, as follows:
1.
Select Start»Programs»National Instruments NI-488.2»Explore
GPIB to start Measurement & Automation Explorer.
2.
Select Help»Troubleshooting»NI-488.2 Troubleshooting Wizard.
The Troubleshooting Wizard tests your GPIB interface and displays
the results, as shown in Figure 2-3.

To view online help for the Troubleshooting Wizard, click on the Help
button.
To add a new GPIB interface to your system, complete the following steps:
1.
Select Start»Programs»National Instruments NI-488.2»Explore
GPIB to start Measurement & Automation Explorer.
2.
Select the Devices and Interfaces folder.
3.
In the right window pane, double-click on the Add Device or
Interface icon.
The Insert New dialog box appears.
4.
Double-click on the GPIB Interface item.
If you are using Windows 98/95, the Add GPIB Hardware Wizard
appears. If you are using Windows 2000/NT, the NI-488.2
Configuration utility appears.
