17 - GAS CONVERSION -

It is easy to transform gas from one family to gas belonging to
another family even with the boiler installed.
This job must be done by professionally qualifi ed personnel only.
The boiler is supplied to run on natural gas (G20) – see the product
rating plate for details.
The boiler can be transformed to use propane gas using a special kit.
Follow the instructions given here below for disassembly:
- Switch off the power to the boiler and turn off the gas cock
- Remove the panel and casing
- Lift up and rotate the instrument panel
- Open the air box cover
For 25 HE only: unscrew the screws fastening the silencer (A)
and remove it
- Disconnect the mixer gas ramp. Unscrew the clamp screws and
relative mixer springs to fan and then remove it.
- Unscrew the screws fi xing the plastic Venturi to the aluminium
shell
- Loosen the plastic Venturi (B) by levering from under the teeth (BE
CAREFUL NOT TO FORCE THEM) and press from the opposite
side until it is completely extracted from the aluminium shell.
- Using wrench CH6 remove and DISGARD AND DO NOT RE-USE
the 2 nozzles (C), clean plastic debris from relative housing
- Press in the 2 new nozzles from the kit as far as the threaded
part, then screw in tightly
- Reassemble the mixer with the fl ap in a horizontal position and
the spacer springs placed at 120° as shown in the
- Reassemble gas ramp and silencer, working vice versa.
- Check the number of times the fan turns
- Switch on the power to the boiler and turn on gas cock again
- Fill in and stick on the accompanying transformation data label
- Close the air box cover
- Close up the instrument panel again
- Reassemble the casing and panel
Programme the "Gas type" parameter and regulate the boiler
following the instructions in the "Adjustments" section.
The boiler may only be converted by qualifi ed staff.
After conversion, adjust the boiler again as shown in the
relative paragraph and apply the new rating plate contained
in the kit.

18 - CLEANING THE BOILER

After removing the fl ange it will be possible to inspect and clean
inside the water tank and check the condition of the magnesium
anode (fi g. 49).
- Turn off the hot water system stopcock and empty the water tank
through the drainage device
- Loosen the nut and extract the anode (1)
- Remove the nuts (2) blocking the external fl ange (3) and extract it
- Clean the inside surfaces and remove all the debris through the
opening
- Check the wear conditions of the magnesium anode (1), replace
if necessary
- Check that the gasket (4) is in good condition after extracting it
from the inside fl ange (5), replace if necessary.
Complete the work of cleaning, re-mount the components working
the other way round to above description.

19 - CHECKING COMBUSTION PARAMETERS

To ensure the product remains in perfect working order, and to
comply with current legislation, systematically check the boiler at
regular intervals.
To analyse combustion, proceed as follows:
- access the CALIBRATION & SERVICE phase by setting the
password as indicated in chapter "Adjustments"
- insert the analyser probes in the designated positions on the air
chamber, after having removed screw A and cap B (fi g. 50)
- make sure, in the HH and LL parameters, that the CO
respond with those indicated in the table. If the value displayed is
different, proceed to modify it as indicated in the chapter "Adjust-
ments", in the sections for parameters HH and LL
- carry out the combustion analysis.
Subsequently:
- remove the analyser probes and close the combustion analysis
sockets with the designated screw
- close the instrument panel, reassemble the cover and boiler shell,
following the procedure described for dismantling it in reverse
order.
The fumes analysis probe must be fully inserted.
IMPORTANT: the function that switches off the boiler when water
temperature reaches a maximum of about 90 °C is still enabled
during the combustion analysis phase.
